How do you tell you barber you want someone else to cut your hair?

How do you tell your barber that you want someone else at the same hair salon to cut your hair?

I have a bit of an akward situation in that when I first went to this hair salon I had the owner cut my hair. She did an excellent job but the next time I went, I let one of her barbers cut my hair and she did an OK job.

The 3rd time I went the barber (non owner) thought I wanted to get my haircut with her so and she seemed very happy! I said what the heck I'll give her another try. This time the haircut wasn't good at all.

Is there any way to tell her that I want the owner to cut my hair? I just feel like it's a bit of an akward situation...

Don't feel awkward, it's your hair. What I do is when I call to make the appointment, I say, "I'd like to schedule a haircut with Rosa." They make the appointment with that stylist and when I go in, that's who cuts my hair. No confusion.

You can make a request, but they don't have to honor it. Sometimes, they will do so, but you will have to pay a request fee.

Don't be embarrassed to ask. You're a paying customer. The worst that can happen is that they say no.

You just explain that you didn't like the way that they cut your hair, trust me they get over it, I'm sure that they have had that happen at least once before. They see so many people come through the salon, they probably don't even remember you. Or go to a new salon.

when I walk in, I usually say something like, "oh, I'm waiting for Joe." Nobody ever takes it personally or gets offended.
