How often should a person cut their hair?

How often is someone supposed to cut their hair to keep it healthy? And how much at every trim should it be cut?

How often should a person cut their hair?

shorter styles every 4-6 weeks

longer styles every 6-8 weeks

following these guidelines trims would be 1/4 of an inch to 1/2 inch possible up to 1 inch depending on chemical treatment and styling habits

Hi, the question on how often you should cut your hair really depends on each and every person. If you have really healthy hair (as in thick hair that grows nonstop) then you should seek in getting a trim every 3 months. But if your hair grows at a normal pace and evenly then you shouldn't cut it more than every 6 months. Find out what type of hair you have and go from there. Don't needlessly cut your hair because "its been three months" just do so when you feel the need to get a "split end cut" or trim. I actually have an appointment to get a hair cut today (it's been about 3-5 months), i feel it keeps my hair healthy and gets rid of all the dead ends.

I don't think cutting hair matters how healthy it is, but how it's treated (shampooed, conditioned, colored).

if you would like to maintian the length you currently have than you should probably trim every 4-6 weeks (1/4 inch).

if you are trying to grow your hair out but would still like to keep it healthy in the process then every 8-10 wks would be best.

depends if you straiten or blowave your hair you should trim it every 2-3 weeks because you get alot of damage at your ends trim it only about 1cm 2cm if your hair is healthy but if its damaged your stylist will have to see how far up the damage is and cut from there,

if you dont straiten your hair or blowave it then maybe every 6 weeks.
