im 14, I have long hair halfway down my back and my mother wont let me get it cut! i would cut it my self like i do sometimes but if i do i wont get to hang out with my friends for 6 months. any ideas? i realy need help!

to keep the hair healthy it needs to be cut. You need to remove the split ends or they will split all the way up and then you will have to take alot off for it to look healthy. You are 14 and want to feel pretty having a haircut makes you feel good and pretty.

When I was in school my dad hated the idea of me cutting my hair. I was persistent and asked all the time. He finally broke down and let me get it cut. Since then I've had some very unfortunate cuts and some great ones that I LOVED.

Ask your mom why not and find some shorter (but not drastic) styles that you both kinda like and see if she wouldn't let you try something new. Look at some styles in magazine or find pictures of her favorite actresses with longer hair and try to compromise. At some point she'll see it more your way. Don't go against her because you'll back her in a corner and work against yourself.

tell her u have split ends and that ur just gonna get a trim and when u get to the salon just get wutever haircut u wanted and when u come home tell ur mom that "i guess the hair stylist just didnt get what i was asking him to do"

wth! i don't get why parents (moms to be more specific) don't let their kids cut their hair. my mom actually likes it short on me, but i want it long, so I'm growing it and she lets me. she doesn't tell me to cut my hair. tell your mom that it's your hair, and she has no right to tell you how long or short SHE wants it. if she likes it long, let her grow HER hair. or if your dad doesn't care about you cutting your hair, ask him to talk to your mom and tell her that you really want to cut it because it's a nuisance to you.

Wait a sec, if the problem is YOU cutting your hair instead of someone else (who has experience) then that's a different situation. why don't you let someone else cut it? it's safer, cuz since you can't really see what you're doing, you might accidentally cut it wrong.
